Workshop

Mathematical Models of Nanostructures: Spectral Problems and Scattering Properties

Berlin, April 25 - 27, 2005

A one-page announcement: PDF

The workshop is organized at the Institute of Mathematics of the Humboldt-University of Berlin by the participants of the research projects "Mathematical models of nanostructures: spectral problems and scattering properties for Schrödinger operators on decorated graphs and hybrid manifolds" (supported by the DFG) and "Spectral problems for Schrödinger-type operators: noncommutative analysis, coherent transform, averaging, semiclassical approximation, and complex geometry" (INTAS project 00-257) and must empower a collaboration between research groups involved into the projects. We are sorry that there will be no funding available for the workshop.

The main topics will be the spectral analysis of hybrid manifolds and of quantum graphs with a particular attention to periodic systems, asymptotic properties of thin structures (tube-like and layer-like domains), their applications in the condensed matter physics, as well as related topics of analysis and operator theory.
