01 · Recommended CMS
Use the CMS configurator
Cleanest path: the CMS provides automatic installers for every platform. The server certificate is set up correctly out of the box.
02 · Manual setup
If auto-config fails
Windows 10/11
Pick the "eduroam" network, then at the prompt:
- Username:
account@hu-berlin.de - Password: HU account password
macOS / iOS
Install the profile via the CMS configurator – the standard Wi-Fi dialog usually isn’t enough (certificate missing).
Linux (NetworkManager)
Pick "eduroam", then:
- Wi-Fi Security: WPA2/WPA3 Enterprise
- Auth: PEAP or TTLS
- Inner: MSCHAPv2
- CA Cert:
T-TeleSec GlobalRoot Class 2
Android
Follow the CMS PDF – Android versions differ. CA certificate is mandatory (System / TeleSec).
03 · Troubleshooting
When the connection fails
- "Wrong credentials": use your username with
@hu-berlin.de, not your usual email. - "Certificate untrusted": use the CMS configurator, it installs the correct T-TeleSec certificate.
- After password change: the stored Wi-Fi password must be updated manually on each device.
- Stubborn issue: "forget" the eduroam network entirely and add it again.
