Topologie II, Wintersemester 2018-19

course description and syllabus

lecture notes
These notes were updated regularly during the semester and also include the notes from the previous semester's Topologie I course. I have since revised them to incorporate many of the homework problems and correct some errors pointed out by the students.

Ankündigungen / Announcements

  • 14.02.2019: The final lecture (on 15.02.2019) has been cancelled due to the BVG strike. The planned contents of that lecture will be added to the notes soon, but will not be considered relevant for final exams.
  • 5.02.2019: The graded take-home midterms will be returned on Friday, 8.02.2019.
  • 27.11.2018: By popular demand, Felix has written up a solution for Problem Set 4 #4 (on the long exact sequence of a mapping torus) which is now posted below.
  • 31.10.2018: Starting next week (7.11.2018), the Wednesday lectures will start at 11:00 sharp instead of 15 minutes after the hour. This way they can end earlier so that there is more time for lunch before the Übung.
previous announcements (no longer relevant)

Übungsblätter / Problem sets

Problem sets will normally be handed out on Wednesdays and discussed in the Übung on the following Wednesday. They will not be collected or graded, with the exception of the take-home midterm, a two-week assignment midway through the semester.

Somebody miscalculated the fundamental group. (Hermannplatz, 8.06.2017)
